chickpeas


Ingredients:

  • 500gms (2 3/4 cups) dried chick peas
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves garlic skin removed
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Place chick peas, water, garlic and bay leaf in slow cooker.
  2. Place on high for 4 hours.
  3. Half an hour before sprinkle salt in pot.
  4. Inspired taste recommend this or the skin on the chick peas become tough.
  5. Once done drain (there will be very little liquid) cool and store in airtight container.
  6. Yields about 6 cups.
  7. Use for your hummus or other chickpea inspired recipes.
