Cottage Pie


Ingredients:

  • 600 gms mince meat (lamb)
  • 2-4 garlic cloves crushed
  • 2 carrots grated
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas defrosted or a zucchini grated
  • 2 Tbsps tomatoe sauce
  • 2 Tbsps Worcestershire sauce (Gluten Free)
  • 1 Tbsp corn flour
  • 1-2 stock cubes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 6 potatoes
  • 100g butter
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Boil cubed potatoes until soft (20-30min). Drain, add butter and mash. Add salt and white pepper to taste.
  3. While potatoes are cooking.
  4. Heat olive oil in large fry pan and add garlic and cook until golden.
  5. Add meat and cook until brown.
  6. Add all other ingredients except spud.
  7. Cook until meat no longer brown and sauce thickens.
  8. Place cooked meat in a tray and spoon over mash spud. Smooth the spud with the back of a large spoon.
  9. Cook for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  10. Serve with side salad or lots of tomatoe sauce!.
