Grandmas Steak and Black Beans


Ingredients:

Steak:
  • One portion of rump steak
  • 1 red pepper sliced
  • 1 green pepper sliced
  • 1/4 cup Black Bean sauce
  • 3-4 TBsp canola oil
  • 4 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 TBsp plum sauce
  • 1 onion sliced (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
Marinate:
  • 1 TBsp each canola oil, corn flour and soy sauce mixed together

Instructions:

Steak:
  1. Cut meat with very sharp knife in thin strips.
  2. You can partially freeze the meat to aid with cutting slices thinly.
  3. Place marinate and meat in a bag or airtight container, and mix together so all the meat is coated.
  4. Leave in fridge over night, to marinate.
  5. Stir every now and then.
  6. When ready to cook, heat oil in wok or large fry pan.
  7. Cook onion for 5 -7 minutes, taking care not to over cook.
  8. Place garlic with onions and Cook garlic for 3 minutes or until golden.
  9. Throw in peppers and toss to coat and cook for 1 minute further.
  10. Remove all veggies from pan and set aside.
  11. Cook meat in batches on high heat adding extra oil if required.
  12. Once meat is all cooked, put all ingredients in pan and stir to coat and rewarm.
  13. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve with rice.
