Oat Slice


Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups oats (GF if desired)
  • 3 TBsp chia seeds
  • 1 TBsp ground flax seed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk you choose (I used rice milk)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp nut butter
  • 1 banana mushed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 block dairy/GF choc

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. Grease small baking pan and line with grease proof paper.
  3. Blend one cup of oats first then add blended oats and all other dry ingredients in one bowl and mix well, not including the choc chips.
  4. In another bowl mix wet ingredients.
  5. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients bowl.
  6. Mix well and pour in prepared pan (it will look quite wet.)
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until knife comes out clean when inserted in the centre.
  8. Edges should be golden brown.
  9. Carefully remove from tray and cool on wire rack.
  10. Once mostly cool, chop into squares and drizzle over melted chocolate if desired.
