Sesame Squares


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup white sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup black sesame seeds or pepitas or chia or linseed seeds or a mixture
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 TBSP rice syrup
  • 1 TBSP honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 TBSP melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. Line a baking tray with a baking sheet or baking paper.
  3. In a bowl mix all ingredients together.
  4. Pour ingredients on to the baking tray.
  5. Place another baking sheet or paper on top of seed mixture and push down with your hand.
  6. Then roll on top of baking paper until mixture is about 2-3 mm thick.
  7. Gently remove top baking sheet or paper and place in oven for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Once out of oven score mixture to make squares (use a pizza wheel or knife) and leave to cool completely.
  9. Once cool break into squares and store in airtight container.
